South Africa v Bangladesh First Test at Bloemfontein

BAN vs SA, 1st Test, Bloemfontein: South Africa seal innings victory (SA 1:0)

Dale Steyn took his ninth five-wicket haul in Tests Saturday, helping bowl South Africa to victory over Bangladesh by an innings and 129-runs in the first of two Tests.
Steyn took 5-63 as South Africa cruised to victory before lunch on the fourth day, with only Mehrab Hossain Jr. putting up any resistance for Bangladesh with a defiant 43 not out. Mehrab batted for 139 minutes in his 69-ball innings.
Bangladesh resumed its second innings on 67-3 overnight, following on after South Africa scored 441-9 declared in its first innings and then dismissed the tourists for just 153 in reply.
After half-an-hour of resistance, the wickets started to tumble, with captain Mohammad Ashraful the first to go with the score on 80. He was caught off the bowling of Makhaya Ntini by Neil McKenzie in the gully for 13. Then Steyn struck, removing Shakib Al Hasan for a duck, and, after Mushfiqur Rahim was run out, getting rid of Naeem Islam and Mashrafe Mortaza in quick succession.
There was a flicker of determination from Shahadat Hossain and Mehrab who put on 44 for the ninth wicket, but Steyn bowled Shahadat for 16 and Jacques Kallis took the wicket of Mahbubul Alam to wrap things up for South Africa. The second Test starts Wednesday.
