Incessant rain washed out the third and final limited-overs cricket match between South Africa and Bangladesh at East London’s Buffalo Park yesterday.
It was a huge disappointment for supporters of the game on the Border who had looked forward to the clash for months.
At about 1pm the umpires, Nigel LLong of England and Marais Erasmus made their decision to cancel the match.
There was no need even for them to squelch their way to the middle, as it was obvious from early yesterday morning that there would be no play following the steady rain which fell throughout Tuesday night in East London.
The first Test between South Africa and Bangladesh starts in Bloemfontein next week.
